Virtual Training Webinar

ree

The Audience: K–12 school teachers participating in monthly training sessions, as well as the client’s team of Digital Learning Specialists (DLS) responsible for leading those webinars.

The Challenge: The client’s Digital Learning Specialists were struggling to engage teachers effectively in their monthly virtual training sessions. The webinars felt more like presentations than learning experiences, and opportunities to model best practices were being missed.

The Solution: Capitalizing on the chance to provide on-the-job training, I designed and delivered a 1-hour virtual instructor-led session using Adobe Connect and Mimio Notebook. This webinar introduced teachers to the platform while simultaneously modeling engagement strategies for the DLS team—giving them a live example to replicate in future sessions.

The Impact: The session demonstrated how interactive tools and intentional design can transform a webinar from passive to participatory. Teachers reported higher engagement, and the DLS team gained practical strategies they could immediately apply in their own delivery.

Lesson for You: Every training session is also a coaching opportunity. How can you design your delivery so participants not only learn the content, but also witness strategies they can use in their own practice?
